A Short Story: A Date.

*This story is entirely a work of fiction.*

She said:

(High pitched tone of voice)

Avi… can I speak to you in private, again, for a few minutes please?

I said:

Seriously? Why what was I doing wrong this time?

She said:

Oh nothing. What’s up with you today?

I said:

Oh you know, the usual, writing and whatnot. Why?

She said:

So I guess you just feel like writing complete masterpieces to any girl that you see today?

I said:

What’s with you creating these types of conundrums and ultimatums? You know I’m always writing, as long as I’m breathing.

She said:

(High pitched tone of voice)

Oh. Right, right.

I said:

(Deeper tone of voice)

Shorty, why do I feel your temper fuming when I’m just trying to see you smile soon?

She said:

(Sighs)

That lines not even that good.

I said:

(Laughs)

So, are you trying to go on a date or what? I’m asking you on a date.

She said:

(Slowly rolls her eyes)

Yes and no.

I said:

What kind of answer is that? It’s typically one or the other.

She said:

Yes… because I do, but at the same time, you’re a piece of shit, so no.

I said:

So what time should I pick you up?

She said:

You don’t even have a good pickup line for me?

I said:

(Speaks smoothly fast)

Well… I’m going to write a song to you next week, but I really need to take you to a dinner table, at a restaurant, and really dive into what you’re feeling. I’m trying to understand what you’re passionate about, I’m trying to understand what makes you smile and laugh… girl I’m trying to understand everything about you.

She said:

(Smiles)

Keep going.

I said:

Shorty, I can keep going if I can be the keeper of your heart and make sure no one else gets in there, other than me.

She said:

(Smiles)

That was really cheesy.

I said:

Shorty, you know I’m dangerously cheesy when I go eye of the tiger to try and win you over.

She said:

(Laughs and blushes)

Okay, that was good. So where are you going to take me on this date?

I said:

(Deeper tone of voice)

Well… my funds are kind of limited right now, but there is this new planet not too far away from here that looks habitable.

She said:
(Closes her eyes with an embarrassed laugh)

Avi… why do you have to be so geeky…

I said:

Why is you all warm then after me saying all of these words to you?

She said:

What kind of song are you going to write?

I said:

I’m not sure, I have studio sessions next week though. Here’s the line that I need you to speak with the electricity of your heart:

Souls always go to where they need to.
