09 Jul A Short Story: Unfortunately
*This story is entirely a work of fiction.*

Yeah, I’m the type of fighter where as soon as I defeat an opponent, they immediately throw the next contender into the ring; I don’t even get a second to breath, drink water or rest… integrity of standards is non-existent with me I guess. And as fictitious of a story it was… the Russians gave Rocky some level of respect.
She said:
You’re totally right about that. But, you keep winning, that’s probably why.
I said:
(opens a bottle of beer and takes a sip)
I still haven’t released my full potential, artistically speaking, not until the injustice hindering my path is alleviated. It’s quite crazy actually, I mean you think about the news and how they’re job is to report this type of stuff… and they kind of just sit back and, for lack of better words, don’t do their job. This probably is the story of all stories, don’t you think?”
She said:
Yeah it certainly is… doesn’t make any sense. Aren’t you an American citizen?
I said:
Yeah, I was born here… in Kansas City, Missouri… that’s the other thing that baffles me, it’s happening right here in the United States, you would think the President would feel some sort of compelling way to prevent this type of stuff from happening to one of it’s birthright citizens.
She said:
I’ve always wondered how you deal with that…it really is absolutely insane.
I said:
How would you deal with it?
She said:
I’m really not sure.
I said:
Exactly. A wise man once said, “No chains around my feet, but I’m not free.” And that’s kind of how I feel. Anyways, I really try not to think about it and just continue to prove and demonstrate why I’m the best and most diverse artist the world has ever seen.
She said:
There are so many issues in the world today that I think people have become desensitized to what you’re going through… I think you need to make your album a knockout blockbuster.
I said:
(laughs)
I’m going to try… with the limited resources I have it’d be a miracle if I could pull that together, don’t you think?
She said:
(smiles)
If anyone could make that happen it’d certainly be you Avi.
I said:
Anyways, here’s a poem I wrote recently, let me know what you think:
Human kind’s interest has always been plagued with the urge to feel like a superior witness to other’s inferior circumstances (often times inferior are actually the superior); despite the arousal and thirst for evangelical endeavors, it’s always been a façade.
That type of deeply rooted fascination that people have is the primary reason why the world really has never known peace, or can’t be peaceful.
People’s lust for power and superiority is nothing more than a tainted ego; and their consistent necessity for this has continued the evolution of consciousness in the wrong direction; almost to the point of an irreversible trajectory.
However, the type of angst that creates is detrimental and suicide-like to one’s soulful being.
