05 Dec A Short Story: Movie Vibes, Pt. 1
*This story is entirely a work of fiction.*
Isabella:
(Smiles)
Movie Vibes Part 1 vibetape, huh??
Avi:
Yeah… what about it?
Isabella:
Woo!
Avi:
(Laughs)
Why you getting flirty with your exasperations towards me?
Isabella:
(Smiles and rolls her eyes)
This might be one of my favorite collection of vibes that you’ve put together so far.
Avi:
What makes you say that?
Isabella:
Because you’re demonstrating so many different styles, types of music, effortlessly. It’s awesome.
Avi:
(Smiles)
Effortlessly? You know how much time I spend practicing, working on my writing, stuff like that.
Isabella:
(Rolls her eyes)
I meant the way you’re starting to integrate those styles of music together, people in the music industry are going to have to start taking you serious, soon.
Avi:
I appreciate that, but I doubt they ever will though. Even though most of those takes for my vocals are done in like 15 minutes.
Isabella:
(Affirmatively)
They will, trust me.
Avi:
Like I said, I appreciate your sweet and kind comments. However, I’ve still got quite a bit to work on, still experimenting with different sounds, lyrics, rhythms, stuff like that.
Isabella:
You don’t always have to be so humble Avi.
Avi:
It’s better that way, so I keep challenging myself. Since what I’m doing is so
much different than what everyone else is doing, I have to continue to
challenge myself.
Isabella:
I like what you’re doing, keep it up.
Avi:
So what exactly do you like about this vibetape?
Isabella:
The fact that even though you’re creating characters to tell stories, the feelings are real, the feelings I get from listening to it… makes me feel real feelings. Sometimes that’s what people want, especially from a vibe.
Avi:
Yeah, I mean, rather than calling it a vibetape I almost want to call it an audio-movie. I almost want people to pretend that they’re blind and just lie down somewhere, put their headphones on, close their eyes and listen to this tape, almost like how they behave when they go to a theater to watch a movie or a play.
Isabella:
That’s a good way to put it… I like that. So part one, how many parts to this movie do you plan on making?
Avi:
Probably three parts in total and then I’ll start working on my album, or at least a few singles that are traditional song format.
Isabella:
I’m not sure you should think about making traditional songs, I have a feeling that people appreciate and want the vibes that you make.
Avi:
You might be right about that, but I also need to make money. And the only way to do that is to sometimes conform to what mainstream audiences want.
Isabella:
How do you know that mainstream audiences wouldn’t want what you’re already making?
